World Marathon Ethiopian: Reviews & Ratings
Fantastic food and service. I ordered the meat combination - the food was excellent and the portions were impressive. It is definitely more filling than it appears!
First time here. Service was great as the owner and his son took care of us and helped us with questions and suggestions. This is an authentic restaurant so there are no utensils. You have a form of fluffy crepe that you are to pick up you your food with. Food was very tasty. I would highly recommend for anyone that is a vegetarian. In fact I honestly enjoyed the vegetarian selections more than the meat. Favourite was the red lentils and the eggplant. If you are looking for something different and truly authentic for Ethiopian food this is the place.
Went to the restaurant on recommendation of a friend. Was very surprised with the food. It was very delicious. We tried the Dora tibs and asked for it to be spicy. The Injera was super soft and a must try. The only problem was the service is very very slow. Would definitely look forward to trying some more dishes.
Family owned restaurant. Fun place to share food and eat with your hands. The injera (crepe like bread) is your utensil. The vegetarian combination plate is a great way to try 5 of the vegetarian dishes. Great flavors and you can adjust the spiciness to your liking. Medium spice was enough. The sambosa appetizer was good but didn’t come with any dipping sauce. The drink menu is very basic but Two Oceans Sauvignon Blanc paired nicely with the spicy flavors. Prices are very reasonable. Overall it’s a fun experience and a must try.
Such a lovely restaurant! Went with a group of 4 - 2 vegetarians and 2 meat eaters and everyone was satisfied! I got the meat sampler - would suggest with the Injera! Other for the veggie sampler and the lamb with rice - which they highly suggested. Such a lovely family owned business with charm inside and great prices! Would come again
The food is tasty. Spiced according to the culture and isn't overpowering. Most people go for the sample platters. The choice of platters are vegetarian and meat with a little if everything they offer. The serving size is larger than average so if this is your first time order conservatively. Apparently the coffee is strong and a whole experience itself. You eat with your hands here and they provide towelettes.
Had a great meal here for dinner. Ordered 1 veg combo and 1 meat combo and shared it amongst 2 people - it was delicious and filling. Service was great, and food arrived quickly. Reasonably priced too, ended up being about 35 bucks for 2 people. I like that they give you wet hand towels before and after your meal - been to several Ethiopian restaurants before and have never had that, it was a nice touch :)
Been coming here for years! Authentic food - nice place - clean - hasn’t changed in about 15-20 years - nice dim lighting. Love sitting by the window to people watch while we eat. But the food is the true star. Nothing else like it in Windsor. Lots of veggie options and delish meat options. I recommend the veggie or meat combo dinner for 1. So good. Great spot - couldn’t imagine downtown windsor without it. An absolute must-go with a dedicated group of people who have also been going here for years because it’s just such a staple.

As Nina Lee shared, whether you are a meat eater or a vegetarian, a meal here can satisfy everyone’s palate. The Dora tibs, especially when spiced to your preference, paired with the gentle softness of injera, creates a flavor explosion that is both comforting and exotic. The vegetarian combination plate, as Laurie Soda noted, provides a fantastic way to sample multiple dishes, each bursting with unique flavors.
